Awkwafina is an American actress and musician. She began by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed lyrics in rap that dealt with questions of racial identity as well as sexual orientation. Then she expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. She also received Jazz and classical training before becoming a hip-hop teenager. Following a focus on education, she was awarded an education in journalism at college and a women's studies specialization. The focus on music until after she completed her degree. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also included viral hits, such as body-positive Queef & winking home tour NYC Bitche$. The track that was the last one to be linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide which was published in 2015. Her resume contained both an author and musician. She was now looking to expand her career into acting. In addition to early series like Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in movies Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she got an array of noteworthy parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released her first film In Fina We Trust.
