Linda Edna Cardellini (n e Lorraine (Hernan) is the mother of Wayne David Cardellini (a successful businessman). Her parents are of Italian (from her paternal great-grandfather), Irish (from her mother), German, English as well as Scottish heritage. She received her training at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama and began her acting career in the British TV show Just William (2010). Her breakout moment came in the year 2015 when she was cast in the leading role in Cinderella which was a film about fantasy. Her previous roles included the role of Lady Rose MacClare as part of the period series Downton Abbey. James went on to portray the Countess Natasha Rostova in the television version of War & Peace (2016) as well as starring in various movies, including the action film Baby Driver (2017), the period dramas Darkest Hour (2017), The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018) and The Dig (2021), and the musicals Mamma Mia! There We Go Again (2018) and Yesterday (2019). Pam & Tommy, a biographical television series based on the story of Pamela Anderson (released in 2022) has earned her nominations for a Golden Globe Award winner and a Primetime Emmy Award.
