
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 through 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Shortly after graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in winning the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time, was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was included in the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
